Trading ES 10/01/14 Thursday

P/L (ticks):
0

Another late start at 8:15am.

  1. At 8:15am we have an A on the 1152 and an unconfirmed A on the 7500, an unconfirmed X on the 233 and a near X on the 288. Short term triggers have rolled. My first thought is I arrived at my desk a little late again. It looks like we're starting the B. However, the long term trends are mostly up, and price has already moved through the big triggers. I'm going to pass on this which means I might be waiting until the open...

Trading ES 10/01/13 Wednesday

P/L (ticks):
-4

I was up late working for the day job and am getting a late start this morning.

  1. A little before 8am we looked to be heading for a B short on the long term charts. We also have a double top at 1137. We got the small trigger roll on the short term charts right at a 1:1. But by this time, price had moved past the double top making this no long a B candidate, but rather either looking for an X or an S.

Trading ES 10/01/12 Tuesday

P/L (ticks):
1

It's Tuesday of my second week of trade blogging.

  1. I was up late last night (working on ZoneTrader) so up late this morning. I peeked at charts at 7:00am and again around 8:30am, but won't get started until the open.
  2. The 8:30am "International Trade Balance" news wasn't even a blip on the charts. However we seem to have slowed the fall around 1133.25 with Macd divergence on the last two lower X's. The next X series is setting up for a potential A-B if we can get the A around 1136.50 and the B around 1134.50. Waiting...

Trading ES 10/01/11 Monday

It's week two of trade blogging, Monday morning. I'm expecting a slow morning: (a) Monday's are normally slow, (b) last week was slow, (c) and there's no news coming out this morning to drive the market.

  1. I checked charts around 7am, short term we're mixed, but the long term 1152 is in a solid downtrend and possibly setting up for an A-B, mx, macd, and triggers all looking good. I'll be watching for an A near the midband, followed by a potential B. Waiting...

Trading ES 10/01/08 Friday

It's Friday on my first week of trade blogging. It's been a very light volume week with little to no pro activity. We're at year-end highs and I'm speculating that people are nervous and unwilling to take risk. I expect more of the same today, and even less of it because it's Friday. For the mid-term I think we'll continue to meander higher. I've read somewhere 1160 as a target for the ES, with a potential strong reversal there.

One trade pre-market for a 5 tick loss. One trade after market open for a 2 tick loss. Down 9 ticks for the week.

I'll add charts later today or this weekend.

Trading ES 10/01/07 Thursday

Day 3 of daily trade blogging, no trades in the morning although I attempted one late afternoon for break-even. Very slow morning, zero pre-market volume and almost nothing in early morning either.

Trading ES 10/01/06 Wednesday

Today is my second daily trading blog. See yesterday for the introductions. One trade today for -3 ticks, and one undocumented trade in the afternoon for +1 tick, so -2 for the day.

Trading ES 10/01/05 Tuesday

I'm starting the new year with the idea to blog each trading day. First, a little about myself. I'm a software developer and have been day trading for about a year. I've co-developed a trading package called ZoneTrader, which runs on NinjaTrader, and is available from TraderUSA.net. I'm not a trading expert. I've learned from some pretty good traders. And I hope I'm becoming a good trader myself.

Each day I hope to comment on what I see as bias and direction. I'll document the trades I actually take. And I'll post some charts.

I have three reasons to write this blog:
  1. make myself a better trader by documenting my trading day
  2. show others how to use (one-way of using) ZoneTrader indicators
  3. increase interest and sales in ZoneTrader product

No trades today, slowly crept higher all day, breaking macd divergence with each high and each low pivot. No good ABC trades. I need to figure out how to trade macd divergence and the trending A trade.

ZoneTrader Presentation

This 2 hour Presentation of ZoneTrader from 11/16/2009 is a fairly deep look at the features and options (see also outline and announcement). ZoneTrader is available from TraderUSA.
