First the happy news. I've had some correspondence with a friend from High School. That's more about the power of Facebook than about cleaning my contacts. But it was nice to exchange emails and update his information
But the sad news is that I removed two people who have passed away. My Grandmother, my Dad's Mom, died a few months ago. She was 92. We weren't very close, but she was family. I know that my Aunt misses her daily. And it's sad that she's gone.
I also removed Verna Bell's name from my contact list. Verna was a Saint. She was very involved with the local community, the local Democratic Party, and her Church. Verna died last October. Read her obituary here. I miss her too!
But like every good geek, the tech stuff is much longer than the people stuff, so read on...
Whenever people come over to the house, I typically barbecue salmon and chicken and brats (I used to do pork too, but stopped that about ten years ago). I have a very good reputation for this, most people ask me how I do it. IMHO, it's better than almost any restaurant I've tried.
You need a gas grill, which will provide consistent heat... I wouldn't try this with charcoal. Here are the full instructions:
DrupalCon Paris 2009 is two and a half months away and I'm excited. My wife Marcia is coming with me, we've got our tickets, rented our flat across from Jardin Du Luxembourg, and will be there for two weeks! Vote on youtube DrupalCon for this video, and help this guy with free admission, at 195-eu, a sweet deal.
I've been looking for a good conferencing, screen sharing tool. I need something that works on both Ubuntu and Windows. It doesn't need to share all my monitors (actually I kinda prefer that it doesn't and uses only one), but it needs to work with a multi-monitor setup. I'd like something that I can put on my website, and point people to. And I'd like something that can record the session. My conclusion is that the jury is still out, I'm still looking, but I'll update as I narrow down the best solutions.
